Refund & Cancellation
Clear, fair and student-friendly terms for our courses, consultations, recordings and digital programmes.

This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") applies to all paid services offered by Jyotish Gayan Academy ("we", "us", "our"). By making a payment for any of our courses, consultations or digital products, you agree to be bound by this Policy along with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. Live online courses (cohort-based)
This includes Basic Astrology, Advanced Astrology, Numerology, Vastu Shastra and any other live group programme.
- Before the batch starts: Full refund minus a 10% processing fee (covers payment gateway, admin and reserved-seat charges) if the cancellation request is received in writing at least 48 hours before the first scheduled class.
- Within first 7 calendar days of the batch: 50% refund, provided not more than two (2) live sessions have been attended and no downloadable material has been requested.
- After 7 days OR more than 2 sessions attended: No monetary refund. You may, at our discretion and subject to seat availability, transfer your seat to the next batch one time within 6 months of the original purchase date.
- Promotional / early-bird / discounted seats: Strictly non-refundable but transferable once to the next batch.
2. 1:1 Consultations
Applies to Detailed Reading, Vastu Visit, Numerology Reading and other personal consultations.
- Rescheduling: Free up to 24 hours before the appointment. Within 24 hours, one complimentary reschedule per booking is allowed.
- Cancellation before 24 hours: Full refund minus a 10% processing fee.
- Cancellation within 24 hours / no-show: Non-refundable. The reading slot will be deemed delivered.
- Service failure on our side: If the consultation could not be delivered due to our error (technical issues at our end, Guruji's unavailability, etc.), you are entitled to a full refund or a complimentary rescheduled session — your choice.
- Quality of guidance: Astrological readings are based on traditional Vedic principles and the birth details you provide. Refunds will not be issued on the basis of subjective dissatisfaction with predictions or remedies.
3. Digital products, recordings & notes
- Recorded lectures, downloadable PDFs, study notes, e-books, software licences and similar digital deliverables are strictly non-refundable once access has been granted or the file has been downloaded.
- If you face a genuine access issue (broken link, corrupted file, login failure), please write to us within 7 days of purchase and we will resolve it at no cost.
4. Failed or duplicate payments
- If your account is debited but the order does not show as successful, the amount is usually auto-reversed by your bank within 5–7 working days. If it isn't, send us the transaction reference and we'll trace it with the payment gateway.
- Duplicate payments for the same order will be refunded in full to the original payment method within 7–10 working days.
5. How to request a refund
- Email hello@jyotishgayan.com from the email used at purchase with subject line "Refund Request – [Order ID]".
- Include: full name, registered phone number, order ID / payment reference, course or consultation name, date of purchase, and reason for the request.
- We will acknowledge within 2 working days and confirm the decision within 7 working days.
- Approved refunds are processed within 7–10 working days to the original payment method. The actual credit to your account depends on your bank / card issuer (typically 3–7 additional days).
6. Mode of refund
All approved refunds are issued only to the original payment instrument (same card, UPI ID or bank account). We do not issue cash refunds, refunds to third-party accounts, or store-credit substitutions unless specifically requested by you in writing.
7. Chargebacks & disputes
Please always contact us first — we'll almost always resolve genuine issues faster than your bank can. Initiating a chargeback without first writing to us may delay resolution and, in case of invalid claims, may result in suspension of access to the relevant course or consultation.
8. Taxes
Where applicable, GST will be refunded along with the principal amount as per Indian tax laws. GST invoices, once raised, will be cancelled / credit-noted as required.
9. Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or non-performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control — including internet outages, natural disasters, pandemics, strikes or government action. In such cases, sessions will be rescheduled to the earliest practical date.
